With over 15 years of design experience and a passion for exploring the connection between human activity and the natural environment,
Emily Sumner, ASID, NCIDQ focuses her work on Interior Architecture & Design, prioritizing sustainability, resiliency, and wellness.
Her career spans both New York City and Los Angeles, where she has held diverse roles such as a lead designer at a luxury firm in Malibu and Beverly Hills,
a contributing member to a Brooklyn-based architecture firm with a
multi-disciplinary design studio focused on hand-made products from natural materials, and a drafter, graphic designer, and R&D specialist in product manufacturing. She has also worked as a city plan expediter, architectural interior design drafter, art curator for commercial spaces, home staging designer, and sustainable set designer.
Emily is an active advocate for sustainability, working or volunteering with organizations such as USGBC’s Greenbuild International Conference and Expo Los Angeles, USGBC's Sustainable Innovation Awards, LA Green Festivals Expo, Surfrider Foundation, 5 Gyres Ambassador, A+D Museum Gala, EcoSet Consulting, and Green Fashion Week. She also founded Sustainable Venice.
Combining her design expertise, sustainable consulting, and studies in Ayurveda, Emily strives to help others achieve balance and wellness within both natural and built environments.
